Jerome Townsend
DOB: March 7 1989 in Worcester Ma.
I live at home with my parents and brother. I go to Clark University in Worcester Ma. and am a first semester freshman after taking a year and a half of after high school.
This will be my fourth season racing on the road. I raced mountain bikes for the two seasons before I started racing on the road. During the past five fall/winter seasons I have race cyclo-cross and traveled to Europe twice to compete in UCI World Cups and the World Championships.
On the road I would like to think of my self as a sprinter as I cannot go up hill well but can hold my own at the end of a criterium or flat road race. My biggest goals this year are to place in the top three at U23 Crit nationals and upgrade to a cat. 1.
2 of my top results from last year were a second place in the Cat 2 race at Somerville and 4th in the Cat 2 crit at The Fitchburg Longsjo Classic.
I raced for Fitness Together/Independent Fabrication last year, my first as an espoir. Before that as a junior I raced for Team Bicycle Alley (2006) and Coast to Coast (2007)
Outside of racing I enjoy playing ice hockey (when time is available) as well as skate skiing and snowboarding.
