IAN LEITCH
Hometown: Brighton, England
Rides: 26" Ti Deluxe
Riding since 1987, I started getting properly into it again about 5 years ago. After two years of steady improvement I saw the IF light and I packed up my Bob trailer hooked it to a Steel Deluxe and rode 16,500 miles from Tierra del Fuego Argentina to Prudhoe Bay Northern Alaska. Since then with IF support I am finding myself getting quicker and quicker at the type of long rides where your head goes crazy. For 2008 I am going to put down the beer glass and enter the world of a fully blown training regime.. after last year I reckon with some work I can get up with the best 24 hour racers out there and actually make it onto the top step.
Aims for 2008:
Win Mountain Mayhem, Europe's biggest 24 Hour race.
Survive The Strathpuffer 24 Hour - In Northern Scotland in January, a 24 hour with 15 hours of darkness in mud, rain and snow! err.. and try and win Gun for Top 5 at the World 24 Hour Championships Break the South Downs Way 2 way off road record of 212 miles in 22 hours.
Smile throughout all races!
