HARLAN PRICE

This will be my year number 3 as a Pro on the mountain bike. Which means I've spent my entire pro career with Indy Fab. I'd like to think it's a symbiotic relationship. They make stratospherically cool stuff. I'm a space cadet, who's trying very hard to stay grounded.

After graduating from college I rode a $35 dollar used bike around Europe with no prior experience riding a bike for more than 15 miles at a time. If I knew then what I know now I would have laughed at me the way the bike shop folk did when I asked them to tune the bike up pre-trip. Luckily I'm still good at doing things without thinking too much about the possibility of failure, or financial stability.

I love riding bikes. Carving lines, getting dirty, cleaning technical sections, the wind in the hair, going faster than traffic and eating bugs.

Philadelphia is the city I call home. When people ask me why I moved here if I want to be a mountain biker I tell them about the 5 hours of trail I can ride one mile from my door step. Then if I'm not too tired I can go see a show at a number of places. Sure it's a little dirty, crime ridden and full of people who don't show much brotherly love. But it's a cool city.

If I wasn't racing bikes I'd probably want to be working at a newspaper as a photographer. I'm a little rusty at the photo thing these days, but maybe one day I'll polish it up.

Next year I hope to do a major MTB stage race, a couple of World Cup races and try to win back my NUE series and Michaux Series Championships from Chris Eatough.
